Basil has many daily uses

Most people just think that it is good on foods like spaghetti, lasagna, pizza and other foods in that category.  Basil is in the mint family. It is another antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. There are many varieties of basil including cinnamon, genovese, sweet, holy, lemon, purple, greek, dark opal, green, lettuce, African blue, spicy global, napoletano and summerlong. These are the ones that I know of there may be more. Most of us use and know of the holy and sweet basil. Basil is full of calcium, magnesium, vitamin K (blood clotting, bone health) and A (eyes), Manganese (helps the body form tissue, bones, clotting and sex hormones) iron, zinc and potassium. Most people think that calcium is just in dairy products. We can also get calcium from eating greens and certain herbs like basil. I have personally tried to grow basil and I just could not get it to grow. I still love to eat it and put it in my foods on a daily basis.  I love salad and always put it in my salads or whatever I am eating. I do this because of the health benefits. The first thing that comes to mind is it is good for your eyes. Also, the eugenol found in basil helps to lower blood pressure. It may help lower cholesterol and triglycerides. Its oil may help to fight against infections including skin, urinary, abdominal and lungs. If you have asthma, it may help improve your breathing. If you are a person with a weak immune system, it may help with that also. Other benefits are it may help improve a person's mental health, prevent certain types of cancer and improve a person's stress levels.

Basil can also be consumed as a detox. I cook every day and I add basil to everything thing that I eat. That includes salads, sandwiches and even my eggs. Basil is good for improving a person skin health. I do make and sell basil oil, soaps and candles since it helps with stress. I personally like the smell of basil. From my experience it is a neutral smell that both men and women enjoy. There are so many simple ways to add it to your everyday routine and it does not take much time. Your health is worth it. There is only 1 you. You have to take care of you before you can anyone else. The information that I post is just my perspective and understanding of information.
